HERB Balm - Lemon 8.5cm/9cm
A bushy upright perennial with wrinkled, light green leaves and spikes of yellow flowers from June to August. Can be used in stuffings, jams, fruit salads, vegetable salads and fruit drinks. Height - 60-120cm (2-4ft); Spread - 45cm (18in). Prefers a well-drained soil in a sunny position.

Clump forming perennial with long thin flat leaves and pretty white flowers. The mild garlic flavoured leaves can be chopped and added to salads, cooked vegetables, soups, egg and cheese dishes. A tall and graceful perennial herb sometimes mistaken for dill but with a completely different taste and fragrance. Very fine green leaves and bright yellow flowers. Used primarily with fish sauces and cooked vegetables. Height - Up to 1.5m (Up to 5ft). Prefers a sunny site in well-drained soil.

'Lavender'. A compact bushy evergreen shrub with narrow silvery grey leaves and spikes of dark purple flowers from July to August. Height - 60cm (24in); Spread - 75cm (30in). Prefers a sunny position in well drained soil.

(Aloysia citriodora). A bushy upright deciduous herb/shrub with lemon scented, rough, bright green leaves. Tiny pale lilac to white flowers from July to August. Can be used in drinks, jams, jellies and ice cream. Height & Spread - 1.8m. Prefers a sheltered, sunny position in well-drained soil. Tidy by pruning back in Spring.

(Mentha x piperita f. citrata). Purple flowers from summer to autumn. Oval, shiny, mid green, peppermint and basil scented leaves. Prefers a sunny position in moist, well-drained soil. Height - 40cm (16in). Use in oils and vinegars.

A bushy woody based perennial with pretty variegated cream and green leaves and clusters of small purple-pink flowers from June to August. Semi-Evergreen, cream and green foliage. Grow in well-drained soil in full sun. Height 40cm (16in). Spread 20cm (8in).

(Thymus pulegioides). A low-growing thyme with rounded dark green leaves and spikes of deep pink flowers in Summer. Leaves can be used with fish and chicken as well as in stews. Prefers a sunny position in moist but very well-drained soil. Trim after flowering. Height - 25cm (10in).
