Smooth frogbit. The shiny green foliage is filled with spongy tissue for buoyancy. Juvenile plants are formed on the ends of runners. The roots make excellent cover for fry and remove nitrates, helping to prevent algae. Not hardy. Remove decaying plants after first frost.
