MARGINAL - Carex muskingumensis 3L
Musk sedge. An architectural plant with light green feathered finely tapering leaves. Little maintenance is required. Trim just above the water surface after foliage has died back in Autumn to tidy.
MARGINAL - Iris pseudacorus 'Variegata' 3L
Variegated yellow flag. The early leaf fans bear attractive yellow and green striped variegation, but this deepens to green as the plant matures. The yellow flowers have distinct brown markings. After foliage has died back in Autumn cut back to just above the water surface. If trimming left until spring take care not to damage emerging shoots.
MARGINAL - Lobelia fulgens 'Queen Victoria' 1L
Red leaved lobelia. The wonderful purplish-red foliage contrasts excellently with the brilliant red flowers. Little maintenance is required. Trim to tidy but leave foliage to die back naturally to encourage winter bud formation.

Pickerel weed. Heart-shaped green leaves with clusters of blue flowers borne on a spike. A tall late flowering structural plant. It is free flowering and slowly grows into a large clump. Little maintenance is required. Trim just above the water surface after foliage has died back in Autumn to tidy.

Fibre optic plant. This attractive evergreen has an apt common name. The glossy thread-like leaves have minute white flower spikes on the tips of each leaf. Evergreen. Trim in early spring to encourage new growth.
