HERB Coriander - Vietnamese 9cm
(Persicaria odorata). A spreading perennial with small creamy flowers, having a mild 'coriander' flavour with a kick of lemon. Add to soups or stir frys at the end of cooking. Ideal for growing in a container to bring indoors over winter. Height - 30cm (12in). Prefers a partially shady position and moist, well-drained, fertile soil.

An evergreen sub-shrub, with very aromatic, finely veined, grey-green leaves and short spikes of showy pale blue flowers in early Summer. Prefers a well-drained soil in full sun. Height - 50cm+ (20in+). Culinary Use - Stuffings and stews.

'Tree Hollyhock'. An erect deciduous shrub with toothed dark green leaves and double purple flowers from July to October. Height - 1.8m (6ft); Spread - 1.5m (5ft).Positioning is the most important factor with this plant. It does need full sun and good, humus-rich, free-draining soil in a sheltered site.
