O.H.'Tricolor'. A striking, compact, evergreen shrub with distinctive golden mottling on the bronze tinged leaves. It does have small white flowers in late summer but is mainly grown for its foliage. Grow in well-drained, moderately fertile soil in sun or partial shade. Height - 90cm (3ft).

Starwort. One of few submerged plants active in autumn and winter. Goldfish are partial to the young succulent leaves & many insects shelter in their tangled masses. It grows in still or flowing water, if fast flowing it keeps the leaves below the surface. It can be dropped in pond as a weighted bunch but grow much better if they are in contact with soil in the pond or pot.
