'Japanese maple'. A large deciduous tree, with bright green deeply lobed leaves turning bright red in Autumn. Probably the most brilliant Autumn colouring of all Acers. Height - 2.4m (8ft). Best in a position sheltered from cold winter winds in humus-rich, acid to neutral well-drained soil in sun or partial shade.
