Our native beech is excellent for hedge making and has rich golden copper Autumn foliage. Given a well-drained soil and avoiding heavy clay it will survive in extreme acid or alkaline soils in sun or shade. Can be trained to a height of between 1.2-2.4m (4-8ft).
