A Kosar Hybrid. One of the ‘Little Girl’ hybrids. A medium-sized shrub of upright habit. The flowers are deep red-purple when open but paler within. Long flowering. Slightly fragrant. Grows well in most soils that are well-drained but holds some moisture, in sun or partial shade. Height & Spread -1.8-2.4 m (6-8ft).
Magnolia stellata 5L
'Star Magnolia'. A compact deciduous Japanese shrub with mid-green leaves. The grey-hairy Winter budsare followed by fragrant, star-shaped, pure white flowers produced from March to April. Height after 10 years - 0.9-1.5m (3-5 ft). Prefers a sunny postion in well-drained soil.
Magnolia x loebneri 'Leonard Messel' 5L
A magnificent tall shrub or small tree. Deciduous. The flowers are lilac-pink, deeper in bud, white within, produced mainly in early to mid-Spring. An old variety that is still one of the best M. x loebneri varieties for general planting. Grows well in most soils that are well-drained but holds some moisture, in sun or part-shade. Height & Spread -1.8-2.4 m (6-8ft).
